Chartis , is a division of AIG, formerly referred to as the 'Property Casualty Insurance' arm of AIG. On July 27, 2009, AIG announced it intended to form a Special Purpose Vehicle for Commercial Insurance, Foreign General and the Private Client Group which would be placed into the SPV and renamed Chartis in preparation for a IPO or other equity offer. Recent reports suggest AIG CEO Robert Benmosche intends to keep Chartis as he deems the business Core to AIG's future earnings potential. As of the end of 2009, Chartis had combined statutory surplus of over $38 billion world-wide. Initially Chartis was named AIU Holdings but the name did not distance it far enough away from AIG's parental issues so it was decided to go to a full rebranding. Chartis is made up of the three former AIG units: commercial insurance, foreign general insurance and private client group.

The CEO Endurance World Championship is a grueling 3-day, 6-stage event hosted at Blackberry Farm in TN from September 13 to 16 that will crown the winner the “Fittest CEO®”. The event is hosted by Life Time Fitness’ CEO Challenges division, and will be filmed and edited for an upcoming TV show (‘The Fittest CEO®’) on NBC, CBS, Fox, and other networks. Twenty-five (25) CEOs have been exclusively invited to take part in the event, with the champion winning the crown of Fittest CEO® and the ability to donate up to $50,000 to the charity of their choice. The CEO Endurance World Championship is set up to fairly identify just who is the fittest person in the competition in two categories – under-50 and over-50. Competitors will be faced with six tests of endurance over three days, including a 25-mile elimination bike race, SPARTAN RACE obstacle course, uphill bike race, 10-km elimination run, 1.5-km swim, and culminates with a tough 6-mile cross country run.
