The European Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition in which figure skaters compete for the title of European champion. The event is sanctioned by the International Skating Union , and is the oldest of the four annual figure skating competitions designated "ISU Championships" . Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The competition is generally held in January.
