NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — The only official PGA TOUR Champions event in Orange County is entering a new era as Hoag takes on title sponsorship of the 2019 tournament formerly called the Toshiba Classic. Hoag Charity Sports, a supporting organization of Hoag Hospital Foundation, announced the decision to move into a new phase of the tournament during a private reception following tournament play, setting the stage for the 24th annual event. With Hoag as title sponsor, the stage is set for the tournament to welcome three new presenting sponsors, including Konica Minolta. Hoag Charity Sports is in discussions with several potential sponsors and expects to announce sponsors in the coming weeks. As it has since 2011, proceeds from the Hoag Classic will benefit the Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center and other Hoag programs, and Hoag Charity Sports will continue to produce the tournament.
