HTC Corporation , formerly High Tech Computer Corporation, is a Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones and tablets. The company initially made smartphones based mostly on Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system software, but in 2009 it began to shift its core focus away from Windows Mobile devices to devices based on Android OS, and in 2010 to Windows Phone OS as well.

For 24 hours on February 9 and 10 more than 150 developers will compete to create innovative fashion-focused apps and programs on API platforms from sponsors including Hearst brands (ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire), Amazon, Facebook, Google, Klout, Microsoft, Singly, Spotify and more. Premier hackathon competition producer AngelHack will facilitate the event. Hearst Magazines President David Carey, Hearst Chief Technology Officer Phil Wiser, Melanie Schnuriger, general manager of fashion and beauty for Hearst Digital Media, as well as tech industry gurus and VCs will judge the finished products. The grand prize winner will be awarded $10,000 and the chance of a mentorship with Hearst Digital Media.

The Hearst Fashion Hack (#HearstFashionHack) kicks off on Saturday, February 9 at 9:00 a.m. with welcoming introductions by Hearst followed by developers pitching their ideas and forming teams. Coding begins promptly at 1:00 p.m. and submissions are due exactly 24 hours later. On Sunday, prototypes will be presented to the judges. Special consideration will be given to apps that inventively connect readers and editors in real-time.
