Jimmy John's is a franchised sandwich restaurant founded by Jimmy John Liautaud in 1983 and headquartered in Champaign, Illinois. The franchise has over 1200 locations in 40 states and has opened approximately 200 units per year for the last three years. 95% of the locations are franchise-owned. The first Jimmy John's opened in a garage in Charleston, Illinois on January 13, 1983 with used equipment and no menu or outdoor advertisement – selling four kinds of sandwiches and 25-cent Cokes. After giving samples around town, the business began to thrive.

RCR Enterprises, LLC, doing business as Richard Childress Racing, is a NASCAR team based in Welcome, North Carolina, and is owned and operated by former driver Richard Childress. The team currently fields the #27 Menards Chevrolet for Paul Menard, the #29 Budweiser/Jimmy John's Chevrolet for Kevin Harvick, and the #31 Caterpillar Inc./General Mills Chevrolet for Jeff Burton in the Sprint Cup Series. In the Nationwide Series, the team fields the #2 OneMain Financial Chevrolet Impala for Elliott Sadler, the #3 AdvoCare Chevrolet for Austin Dillon, and the #33 Rheem/Menards/South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa Chevrolet for various drivers. In the Truck Series, the team fields the #2 Chevrolet Silverado for Tim George, Jr. and Brendan Gaughan, the #3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet Silverado for Ty Dillon and the #22 Rip It Chevrolet Silverado for Joey Coulter in the. Under terms of the deal, Jimmy John's will serve as the primary sponsor on Kevin Harvick's No. 29 car for six races during the 2011 Nascar Sprint Cup Series. Additionally, when not serving as the car's primary sponsor, Jimmy John's will feature on Harvick's car as an associate sponsor for the duration of the 2011 race season.
