Atlanta Pride, also colloquially called the Atlanta Gay Pride Festival, is a week-long annual lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender pride parade held in Atlanta, Georgia . Established in 1971, it is one of the oldest pride parades in the United States. According to the Atlanta Pride Committee as of 2007, attendance was averaging around 200,000. Until 2008, it was held in Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta. In 2008 it was held in the Civic Center, but returned to Piedmont Park in 2009.
