WASHINGTON, D.C. - Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) and Leidos announced today that they have reached an agreement to make Leidos the official season presenting partner of Wizards District Gaming beginning with its inaugural season as a member of the NBA 2K League in 2018. “We are excited about our first-in-kind partnership with Leidos and Wizards District Gaming,” Jim Van Stone, President of Business Operations and Chief Commercial Officer at Monumental Sports & Entertainment, said. “Leidos’ commitment to innovation through information technology, engineering, and science as a visionary and forward-thinking company makes this is perfect match as a season presenting sponsor for our newest MSE property.” “We’re in the business of leveraging leading edge technologies that help solve the world’s most complex problems,” said Melissa Koskovich , Leidos Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing. “We couldn’t be happier to continue our partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment by sponsoring an exciting Wizards District Gaming NBA 2K League team that uses innovative gaming technology to engage fans and hopefully inspire them to pursue critical careers in the fields of technology and science.” As part of the agreement, Leidos will advertise its logo on out-of-home LED signage and the Wizards DG Practice Facility as well as exclusive branding on the stream overlay during each practice session, in-game virtual assets and digital integration on the Wizards DG website. Additionally, Leidos will have exclusive ownership of a number of streamed scrim blocks during the season. Wizards DG will also host an esports event exclusively for Leidos employees and partner with the American defense company on grassroots community initiatives. The NBA 2K League, a joint venture between the NBA and Take-Two Interactive, is a professional esports league featuring the best 2K players in the world. The 2K League’s inaugural season, which will feature 17 teams, will take place in 2018, beginning with a league qualifier in January to determine players for a combine in February, followed by a draft in March, and tip-off in May.
