Maxx Sunglasses is a local family owned company based out of Monument, Colorado. Rick and Nancy Milner started the company in 2004, selling sunglasses from bright yellow tents and trailers in Colorado Springs. Customers began spreading the word and coming back to their trailers to repurchase the HD lens that improved their golf game. Shortly after, Rick began making sales to golf courses and pro shops, while Nancy packed orders and samples from their kitchen table and sent them to pro shops across the US. They created their professional website of MaxxSunglasses.com in 2007, causing Maxx awareness and sales to increase. In 2013, Monument, Colorado-based Maxx expects to hit $10 million in sales this year, largely from licensing deals.
The LSU Tigers are the athletic teams of Louisiana State University, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They participate in the NCAA's Division I, in the Southeastern Conference. LSU fields teams in 14 varsity sports . Its official team nickname is the Fighting Tigers and the school mascot is Mike the Tiger. The official school colors are purple and gold, although in actuality the "gold" color which appears on the university's sports uniforms is canary yellow. LSU's nickname is a throwback to its Confederate heritage and is drawn from the Civil War fame of a New Orleans infantry company, the "Tiger Rifles," who fought so fiercely in General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia that they, and eventually all other Louisiana troops, became known as "Louisiana Tigers."
