About Property:
The Detroit Hydrofest (branded as the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Detroit Hydrofest for sponsorship reasons) is a H1 Unlimited hydroplane boat race held in August on the Detroit River in Detroit, Michigan. The race was formerly known as the Gold Cup, until it was moved to Tri-Cities for the 2015 season.
It marks the first multiyear deal for the race since UAW-GM pulled its support after the 2016 race. The auto dealership group stepped in for one-year deals for 2017-19. Securing a deal through 2021 clears up uncertainty that had loomed over the event and gives organizers some breathing room to build it up, Weber said.
