It is projected she will rise to possibly as high as no. 21 based on her win over Ana Ivanovic in the quarterfinals at the 2014 Australian Open, the second Canadian in history to reach a Grand Slam semifinal. In 2012, Bouchard became the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam in singles after her win at Wimbledon as a junior. She achieved a career-high junior rank of no. 2 following her title. At the end of the 2013 season, she was named the WTA Newcomer of the Year, the second Canadian to receive that honor. Bouchard is currently Canada's highest-ranked women's singles player.
