Novant Health is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Novant serves patients and communities reaching from Virginia to Georgia. Novant was formed July 1, 1997 by the merger of Carolina Medicorp of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Presbyterian Health Services of Charlotte, North Carolina. The system has 13 hospitals, seven philanthropic foundations, one senior residential facility and more than 500 physicians clinics, outpatient surgery, imaging and diagnostic centers, rehabilitation programs and community health outreach programs.
The Novant Health Charlotte Marathon is an annual marathon which takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina, every November. It was previously called Thunder Road Marathon and used to feature a NASCAR theme in keeping with the region's close ties to auto racing.
