Opening in the fall of 2013, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts will transform a Beverly Hills city block into a vibrant new cultural destination with two distinct, elegant buildings: the treasured historic Beverly Hills Post Office and a new, contemporary 500-seat, state-of-the-art Goldsmith Theater. Together the venues will elegantly embrace the city’s history and its future, creating a new landmark. Within the treasured Post Office, existing spaces will be re-imagined into a flexible 150-seat Studio Theater, three classrooms for a theater school for young people, a café, and gift shop. The beautiful marble-clad Grand Hall will serve as the main lobby to the Annenberg and a grand staircase will descend from the historic building into the adjoining 500-seat theater lobby where visitors can experience a beautiful sunken sculpture garden, elegant landscaping and a promenade terrace. Located in the heart of the city’s finest shopping and dining, the Annenberg will serve Beverly Hills and Greater Los Angeles and be a home to artists from around the world.
