About Sponsor:

Stolichnaya is a Russian vodka made of wheat and rye grain. Fermentation of Stolichnaya starts with wheat and rye grains and artesial water from the Russian city of Samara and the Kaliningrad region.[citation needed] The fermentation takes about 60 hours. Once fermentation is complete the resulting liquid is distilled four times to a strength of 96.4% ABV. This spirit is then diluted to bottling strength with more artesial well water. It is then filtered through quartz, sand, activated charcoal, and finally through woven cloth.[1]

LANSING – The LGBT community is at odds with Russia over its new laws prohibiting any open expression of homosexuality and is boycotting any and all things Russian. So when the 24th annual Michigan Pride Festival announced that well-known Stolichnaya (or Stoli) vodka would be one of their mainline sponsors, organizers quickly wanted to clear up any confusion.
