Subaru is the automobile manufacturing division of Japanese transportation conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries. Subaru is internationally known for their use of the boxer engine layout popularized in cars by the Volkswagen Beetle and Porsche 911, in most of their vehicles above 1500cc as well as their use of the all wheel drive drivetrain layout, first introduced in 1972, that became standard equipment for mid-size and smaller cars in most international markets as of 1996, and is now standard in all Subaru vehicles.
This is the seventh annual signature Urbanathlon event produced by Men's Health, the world's largest men's magazine. Highlights of this year's rigorous and demanding courses include: Stair climbs in Soldier Field (Chicago), Citi Field and Arthur Ashe Stadium (New York), AT&T Park (San Francisco), tire stutter-stepping, climbing over marine hurdles, over-under traffic barricade obstacles, traversing monkey bars, taxi cab hurdles, scaling a bus, and crawling under the Subaru XV Crosstrek obstacle before heading to the 8-foot wall at the finish lines.
