Tailgate Guys was designed to take the trouble out of tailgating by providing an exclusive, fun game day experience for their guests by offering tailgate packages to accommodate groups of all sizes, with offerings including tents, tables, chairs, coolers with ice, TV and media service, food and beverage options and their own bellhop service. Founded in 2009, Tailgate Guys operates on campuses and in bowl games around the southeast including Auburn University, Texas A&M University, the University of Florida, Georgia Tech, the University of Texas, the Peach Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, Texas Christian University, the University of Alabama, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and the University of North Carolina, among others.

Colorado State's athletic teams compete along with 8 other institutions in the Mountain West Conference, which is an NCAA Division I conference and sponsors Division I FBS football. The Conference was formed in 1999, splitting from the former 16-member Western Athletic Conference. CSU has won 9 MWC tournament championships and won or shared 11 regular season titles. Rams football teams won or shared the Mountain West title in 1999, 2000 and 2002.
