Toyota Center is an indoor arena located in downtown Houston, Texas. It is named after the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota. The arena is home to the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association, the principal users of the building, and the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.
HOUSTON, July 24, 2003 - Toyota has reached a multi-year agreement with the Houston Rockets, Houston Comets and Clutch City Sports & Entertainment for the naming rights of the new downtown arena to be called Toyota Center. Starting this September, Toyota Center will serve as the home to Houstons professional basketball franchises and the American Hockey Leagues Houston Aeros, as well as the citys premier venue for entertainment shows.
