UC San Diego Health signs on as naming rights partner for San Diego Metropolitan Transit System

About Sponsor:

UC San Diego Health is the only academic health system serving San Diego, as well as one of only two Level I trauma centers in the region.[3] It is run by the University of California, San Diego and is closely affiliated with the university's School of Medicine.

About Property:

San Diego MTS operates 95 bus routes and three Trolley lines on 53 miles of double-tracked railway. Every weekday more than 300,000 passenger trips are taken on MTS bus and Trolley services.

UC San Diego will pay MTS $675,000 for naming rights while the line is under construction. On the first year of trolley service, the fee will increase to $945,000. After that, the annual cost will increase with the local inflation rate with UC San Diego paying a total of $30 million over a 30-year period.
