Unilever[3] is a British–Dutch multinational fast-moving consumer goods company. Its products include foods, beverages, cleaning agents and personal care products. It is the world's third-largest consumer goods company measured by revenues (after Procter & Gamble and Nestlé) and the world's largest maker of ice cream.[4][5] Unilever is a dual-listed company consisting of Unilever N.V. in Rotterdam, Netherlands and Unilever PLC in London, United Kingdom. This arrangement is similar to those of Reed Elsevier and Royal Dutch Shell prior to their unified structures. Both Unilever companies have the same directors and they operate as a single business. The current non-executive Chairman of Unilever N.V. and PLC is Michael Treschow while Paul Polman is Group Chief Executive. As of December 2011, it was the 18th largest company on the FTSE, with a market capitalisation of £27.3 billion.[6]

The event started in Toronto in 2007 and is now held in cities across Canada, the United States, and the U.K. We Day motivates youth to take action on local and global issues. We Day events feature speeches and performances by global leaders, social activists and public figures. Each student group that attends is asked to make a commitment of one local and one global action throughout the year to change the world for the better.[1]
