About Sponsor:
The VCU Medical Center is Virginia Commonwealth University's medical campus located in downtown Richmond, Virginia in the Court End neighborhood.
About Property:
Formerly called the SunTrust Richmond Marathon, the Anthem Richmond Marathon is an annual marathon foot-race held in Richmond, Virginia, USA. It was established in 1978 and has been run every year since. It was known as the Richmond Newspapers Marathon until 1997 when SunTrust Bank took title sponsorship. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield acquired title sponsorship in March, 2012. The marathon commences at 7th & Broad Streets and conclude at Cary and 10th Street in front of the James Center. Runners have seven hours in which to complete the marathon.
“VCU Health is pleased to take on the title sponsorship of the Richmond Marathon and remain a part of the event this year and beyond,” VCU Health System chief financial officer Melinda Hancock said in a release.
