About Sponsor:
Virgin Active is a chain of health clubs in South Africa, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Australia and the United Kingdom. Initially trading in South Africa as 'The Health and Racquet Club', it was near collapse when it was acquired by Richard Branson's Virgin Group. It has subsequently expanded its operations to Italy, Spain, the UK and, as of December 2008, Australia.
About Property:
The London Triathlon is the largest Triathlon in the world. Held annually in London, the race attracts a world class field of elite athletes and in excess of 13,000 competitors and 30,000 spectators to the ExCeL Exhibition Centre, in the London Docklands.
It amplifies the Virgin brand's association with sport that is being built by its five-year £17m sponsorship of the London Marathon, with Virgin Money as the lead brand, which started this year.
