WHOOP is a Boston, Massachusetts-based wearable technology company that offers a performance optimization system that helps elite athletes and teams win. WHOOP provides athletes, their coaches, and trainers with a continuous understanding of strain and recovery to balance training, reduce injuries, and predict performance. The system is currently being used by professional and collegiate athletes, Olympians, and the United States military. In September 2015, the company announced an additional $12 million in funding bringing the company's total funding to $22 million.
The Boston College Eagles are the athletic teams representing Boston College. They compete in NCAA Division I as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The men's and women's ice hockey teams compete in Hockey East. The women's crew team competes in the Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges . Skiing, fencing, and sailing are also non-ACC. Boston College is one of only 13 universities in the country offering NCAA Division I football , Division I men's and women's basketball, and Division I hockey.
