What is the For ClimateTech Global Innovation Challenge?

The For ClimateTech Global Innovation Challenge aims to address the urgent need for climate tech solutions, which can be difficult to develop without the right resources, mentorship and market insight. This year, we are rallying a global community to source and support the most impactful and equitable early-stage climate tech solutions across the following sectors key to reducing global emissions:

1) Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion: Women in Climate Tech; Entrepreneurs from Developing Economies; Climate Justice
2) Industry Impact: Agriculture & Food; Energy; Transportation; Web3 & Blockchain; FinTech & ESG Data; Hemp
3) Economic Challenges: Supply Chain; Manufacturing; Future of Cities; Built Environment

We aim to provide strong and inclusive incentives for that can benefit all applicants, while ensuring finalists and challenge winners are well supported in their entrepreneurial and impactful journey, including:

- Community: Opportunity to join For ClimateTech community; Visibility into the landscape of climate tech resources in New York State, allowing a more detailed understanding of the resources available in the New York climate tech space
- Finalists: Access and participation to the V4C ClimateTech Summit 2022, our flagship convening and workshops deep diving into the advancements in early-stage climate innovation; Participants will have standing company branded booths on our virtual Hopin platform to meet with attendees, along with holding sessions to speak in front of breakout workshop audiences
- Awardees: $10,000 cash prize per winner; Solution recognition and media announcement; In-kind services and technical support; Office hours and tailored one-on-one feedback with our climate tech experts included from our partners, sponsors, and judges

Who Are We?

Venture For ClimateTech (V4C) is a program under the For ClimateTech (FCT) umbrella and is powered by NextCorps and SecondMuse and supported by NYSERDA. V4C is focused on helping to advance energy, food & agriculture, buildings, and transportation as key strategic areas for the New York State climate tech landscape. In 2021, we kicked off the inaugural For ClimateTech Global Innovation Challenge aimed at building a global movement to source and develop the most impactful and equitable solutions in climate tech.
