Barracks Row Main Street is a nonprofit community and economic-development organization dedicated to strengthening, promoting, and enhancing the historic Barracks Row commercial corridor along 8th Street SE on Capitol Hill.

The organization supports local businesses, produces public arts and cultural programming, activates community spaces, promotes the corridor’s history, develops partnerships, and creates experiences that bring residents, visitors, students, businesses, artists, and community organizations together.

Through neighborhood festivals, Art All Night programming, live performances, placemaking initiatives, business-support programs, and community partnerships, Barracks Row Main Street has developed experience coordinating public events involving multiple venues, performers, businesses, government agencies, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.

As a Main Street America™ Accredited program, Barracks Row Main Street is part of a national network of neighborhood and downtown organizations committed to creating high-quality places and strengthening communities through preservation-based economic development.
