Since its inception in 2013, Black Alphabet NFP has worked to encourage storytelling, cultivate new dialogues and educate communities about the cultural and social contributions that Black LGBTQ-identified people have made upon the world. The organization now focuses on promoting social equity through the use of media and all of the creative abilities of our community. Social equity is a concept that speaks to the fair and equitable identification, provision, implementation, and impact of services, programs, and policies.

​Our mission reflects our desire to use media and the creative arts to promote healthy and whole lifestyles to the Black LGBT+ community. We do this through regular programming throughout the year which addresses issues that uniquely and/or disproportionately impact members of the Black LGBT+ community.
