For almost 35 years, the Children's Museum of Tacoma has honored children and championed play. Over the past decade, the Museum's flagship outreach program, Play to Learn, has grown from serving 6,000 to serving nearly 20,000 children and caregivers each year in their own neighborhoods, free of charge. The Museum was the first children’s museum in the nation to adopt Pay As You Will admission every day, trusting every family to make their own financial decisions. Serving more than 170,000 adults and children every year, the Museum has unparalleled expertise in addressing early learning and has been asked to open a satellite museum on Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), the nation’s largest military installation, to serve the families there beginning in 2020.
