Exploration Place, Kansas' premier science center, sits on 20 riverfront acres in a 100,000-square foot building designed by internationally acclaimed architect Moshe Safdie. Exploration Place boasts 11 hands-on exhibit galleries, a digital dome theater, creative learning studio and more. Between 2010 and 2019, annual on-site facility attendance grew by 65% from 169,200 individuals to 278,800. In the realm of youth education, Exploration Place has emerged as a key provider of STEM programming, in partnership with local and regional schools, homeschools and libraries. From 2010 to 2019, there was a huge increase in off-site STEM education outreach, with program participants growing 523% from 9,800 to 51,300. Three new exhibits per year attract new visitors and keep members returning for more visits. Each traveling exhibit is included with general admission.
