On Thanksgiving, we host over 1,000 children and family members of fallen heroes from the federal, state, and local uniformed services. Families and sponsors enjoy breakfast at Bryant Park Grill and a private viewing area to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The event is by invitation only and free of charge to the families. There are press opportunities with network television and other media, and during breakfast there is a brief presentation including greetings from the NYPD and FDNY Commissioners and other dignitaries, recognition of scholarship recipients, and the presentation of Hero Awards. The event ends by 11:30 am allowing guests plenty of time to head to their personal Thanksgiving celebrations.
