FrightFest (also known as Arrow Video FrightFest) is the UK's premier horror, fantasy, sci-fi and thriller film festival, founded in 2000 by Paul McEvoy, Ian Rattray, Alan Jones and Greg Day. Now in its 27th year, it runs three main events annually: a five-day flagship festival in London over the late-August Bank Holiday weekend, a Halloween event in London in late October, and FrightFest Glasgow, a three-day "Terror-thon" held in early March as part of the Glasgow Film Festival. Guillermo del Toro once dubbed it "the Woodstock of gore." The festival draws horror fans and filmmakers from around the world and showcases premieres alongside cult favorites.
