My name is Shelby and I am a junior at Vandegrift HS in Austin, TX. As part of my community leadership initiative through the FCCLA club at school I’m planning a fun run in our community on November 16, to benefit and raise money for The Quell Foundation. The Quell Foundation is teaming up with us to provide scholarships to youth in Austin who are struggling with mental health disabilities, but are fighting through, seeking help and attending college!
We’ve created a cause to support youth dealing with mental health issues – not only do we want to raise enough money to provide five scholarships, but we are also are on a mission to shed light on and raise awareness about the mental health resources available in our community. We want to erase the darkness (the negative stigma) on mental health so we can inspire our peers to seek the help they need to GLOW ON! I would like to ask for your help in supporting this very important cause! With your help, we hope to raise enough to be able to provide at least 5 scholarships to teens from Austin, TX to help them achieve their dreams of going to college!!!
