High Plains Comedy Festival is a comedy festival held each year in Denver, Colorado. Founded in 2013 by Denver comedian/writer Adam Cayton-Holland, the Festival features a mix of local and national comics in venues throughout the city—with a special emphasis on the charming Baker neighborhood surrounding South Broadway plus a headlining show presented in conjunction with Comedy Works Entertainment at the historic Paramount Theatre. High Plains has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talent-packed and fun-filled Festivals in the country.
High Plains was designed as a love letter from Cayton-Holland to his beloved hometown of Denver. A three-day party for performers and fans alike to come together and celebrate both comedy and the “Queen City of the Plains.” Once considered more of a cowtown than a city, Denver’s population has exploded and its comedy scene has grown to be one of the biggest and best outside of LA and New York. Due in no small part to High Plains’ success, Denver-based comedians have garnered national attention including spots on The Tonight Show, America’s Got Talent, and Last Comic Standing. Every year more industry attends the Festival, as it becomes an increasingly renowned spot for catching talent on their way up.
