Introduction

Microfacturing Institutes, a 501 c3 charitable organization dedicated to narrowing the technical skills gap, is proud to present the inaugural IoT Creator Datathon from January 11th - February 21st 2021. Innovators from all over the world will use IoT Creator, a new flow-based IoT system builder, to create home automation systems and compete for prizes such as a $5000 scholarship.

About IoT Creator and the Datathon

From smart sprinklers that adjust their watering schedules based on weather conditions to intelligent lights that can be controlled from anywhere in the world, the expanding world of Internet of Things (IoT) technology is opening up Home Automation capabilities even further. By using the new IoT Creator platform from Microfacturing Institutes, users are able to utilize a drag-and-drop visual prototyping tool to design, create and implement an IoT system in a fraction of the time that this process once took.
For the IoT Creator Datathon, students from all over the world will be tasked with using the IoT Creator platform to design their own Home Automation solutions in a contest decided by crowdsourced judging of other contestants. With Home Automation categories that include Smart Appliances and Furniture, Home Security, and Health, Wellness & Nutrition, we are encouraging contestants to be as creative as possible in designing inspiring Home Automation systems.
