The Maine Student Film Festival is a celebration of student film and video from around the world! Each year, we screen the 50 best films out of an intense competition of thousands of submissions from students around the world. Coupled with live performances, workshops, and Q&A sessions, the Maine Student Film Festival is the largest student film event north of New York City.
Last year marked the first year we broadcasted our show abroad, and we had 5,000+ concurrent viewers in all 50 states, as well as 13 foreign countries.
Talent scouts from NBC and CBS both spoke to filmmakers who screened their projects last year, and filmmakers in our festival went on to show their films at some of the most prestigious festivals in the world, including Tribeca Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and more!
This past year also marked the first year that members of the MSFF team were invited to Los Angeles, CA for the Student Academy Awards, hosted by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. It was a huge honor, and we thank The Academy again for inviting us.
