Memphis Art + Design (MAD) Week is an annual event that celebrates creative talents across several genres and disciplines who showcase the exciting culture and philosophy of Memphis. This initiative is driven by the desire to unite artists with their arts and cultural institutions.

The Memphis Art + Design Week is proud to recognize and honor those functional processes, innovative ideas, transformative solutions, and uplifting leadership evident in the Memphis creative communities. This week-long event features a series of exhibitions, symposiums, and many other fun activities - However, due to COVID-19, it will be hosted online across social media platforms, including HopIn.

Memphis Art + Design Week is a program of 3RDSPACE. 3RDSPACE” derives its name from a socio-cultural term that designates a communal space, as distinct from the home (first space) or work (second space). Founded by Whitney Hardy, she sought to create an organization that enabled any individual to experience a transformative sense of self, identity, and relationship with others. During this time of crisis and increased visibility of the oppression and systemic racism embedded in this country, we know now is the time to uplift the power of arts as the city's third space.
