Despite their name, the club are based at Firhill Stadium in the Maryhill area of the city, and have not played in Partick since 1908. The club have been members of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) since its formation in 2013 and currently compete in the Scottish Premiership, the highest tier of the SPFL structure, following promotion from the 2012–13 Scottish First Division.
