Nonprofits, Causes, & Municipalities - Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
PROVAIL supports people with disabilities so they can participate and engage in life according to their own choices. We work with our clients to build pathways to independence, integration, and inclusion, and navigate their personal journey with dignity and respect. Founded in 1942, PROVAIL has eight decades of experience and expertise. Our programs and services have proven over time to improve quality of life for people with a range of intellectual and developmental disabilities. With their unique skills and long tenure with PROVAIL, our staff bring diverse backgrounds to this work.

Our programs focus on three areas of life on the pathway to inclusion: Mobility & Communication services, Employment services, and Home & Lifestyle programs. PROVAIL is the only organization in our region providing comprehensive services to support a person throughout their life. We see everyone as a person first: unique, capable, and deserving of the opportunity to live their life according to their own choices. Our programs and services are tailored to the individual to maximize accessibility and inclusion.

Our’s is a social justice mission ensuring that individuals with disabilities are afforded the same opportunities as others to self-direct their lives and engage with the community. Today in Washington State, there are more than 14,000 people of all ages with developmental disabilities on the state’s No Paid Services Caseload. They are eligible to receive support services but limited state funding keeps them from receiving services. There are likely many more who have not sought eligibility. Our strategic plan calls for growth and development of programs and services to address unmet needs for individuals across Washington.
