Born and raised in South India, SUVI launched to prominence as part of the pop band S5, signed to Sony BMG. Upon the disbandment of S5, Suvi transitioned into a major playback singing career in South Indian movie industry.

She began collaborating with top industry leaders including A.R. Rahman (of Slumdog Millionaire fame), Yuvan Shankar Raja, and many more.
SUVI could have stayed in India building on her success behind the scenes as a playback singer, but her ambitions began and stayed with the dream of being on the stage performing her own hits while becoming her own artist. This passion drew her to the United States after winning a full-ride scholarship to study music in Los Angeles. Her music resonates universally with audiences by blending Western and Eastern elements through her incredible fusion of Hip-Hop, Dravidian, and Bollywood inspirations.

The release of her recent singles “Dopamine” and “Rani Raja” have both been featured on Rolling Stone India and Urban Asian. MTV featured her as an artist of the week on The Challenge. The New York-based magazine, Respect, did a feature piece highlighting SUVI as an artist to watch.
