We serve as a key pillar to our nation’s ability to deliver supplies in peacetime and in war where we measure our response time in minutes and hours, not in weeks or months. At times, that
response is to assist our local agencies as a fire threatens nearby communities or to provide life-saving medical care to an 11-year-old child from the Sacramento region. We value these responsibilities and we will always hold them sacred...and yet we know that Travis Air Force Base could not accomplish this without support from our community. Beyond a partnership, it is the relationship we have with our surrounding neighborhoods and cities that make living in Northern California one of the best places in the world. As a means of saying ‘Thank you,’ this year’s air show is honoring Hometown Heroes; not just those in the military, but our community partners who go above and beyond to keep our region safe and healthy.
