The Women’s Basketball Development Association is the largest professional women’s basketball league in the world. Our platform was created to assist women players after college to continue their basketball career and gain professional opportunities both domestically and internationally. The league was founded in 2004 as the Women’s Blue-Chip Basketball League based out of Dallas, Texas. During the inaugural season 10 teams located between Dallas and Atlanta participated. The WBCBL was 1 of 4 professional leagues in U.S, which included the NBA, ABA, and WNBA.
Last season our league was comprised of 37 teams across the country with 400 active players and 200 registered officials. During the last 14 years we have assisted 500 players who have been fortunate to pursue their dreams and sign professional contracts with the WNBA and international markets. We have also played against and hosted National Teams from China, Chile, Puerto Rico, Australia, Mexico and Canada. The WBDA player backgrounds range from JUCO, NAIA, NCAA, FIBA and WNBA.
