Report: Crowdfunding Platforms Raise $1.5B in '11
According to a recent report, of the $1.5 billion that crowdsourcing platforms raised in 2011, sponsorship/donation platforms like Kickstarter, where funders were motivated by philanthropic or sponsorship incentives, raised more than a third or $676 million.
